Canon EOS ELAN II 35mm SLR Camera Kit w/ 28-80mm Lens

The EOS Elan II's key controls are positioned for easy access. This camera also provides feedback-confirming control inputs and camera functions via a two-dial and metering-mode lever, a quick-control dial, an AF-mode dial, a film-advance mode lever, and an LCD panel. In addition, Canon's AIM system integrates standard AE, flash AE, and autofocus information.

This camera comes equipped with a Canon 28 to 80mm zoom lens, a camera strap, and one 6-volt lithium battery (2CR5).

The picture quality is excellent. The quality and sharpness of your photos may vary based on your ability and the lens you attach to it, but rest assured that if you know how to tell the camera to take a good picture, it won't let you down.

After looking long and good at all camera brands and models, I found a great deal on the Elan II. This camera has it all. The aluminum body makes it strong and durable. It's a little on the heavy side--but that makes it less wobbly when you take the picture. All modes are there plus more-you can do everything from manual exposures to fully auto to blurry backgrounds. If you can push it a little and pay for the Elan II, I would buy it. It is much superior to the Rebels, even more than the Rebel 2000. THIS CAMERA IS AWESOME!!! 5 STARS PLUS RATING!!!

The Elan II should provide most any photographer, using the 35mm format, with all the automatic and manual functions you could possibly want. I have to echo the other reviews that point out the ease of using this camera when compared to the comparable Nikon, the N70. It's also as rugged a unit as can be found today. If possible, I'd save my money and avoid the IIe version, as the eye controlled function is a bit of overkill and in my opinion more a novelty than a useful feature.
